Meet KiKi
Although I reside and operate Mikiya Skin Essentials out of Houston, Texas, I am a native of the Washington, DC area and a graduate of Bowie State University (Bowie, Maryland) - I hold a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science. Go Bulldogs!
My professional career encompasses over 25 years in several industries (federal, private and academia) and capacities that include, but not limited to, are: executive-level administration, senior analytical experience, personnel training/education, incident management, human resources administration, safety/OSHA compliance, marketing, computer graphics/AutoCAD, payroll management, accounting, database administration and much more.
Aside from my professional career, I've always had a multitude of hobbies. However, I must say that creating beauty and wellness products from natural resources has been the most intriguing. My mother championed me for years to press forward with starting my own brand by putting my talents and gifts to good use. The quest to stand up Mikiya Skin Essentials came many decades and thousands upon thousands of dollars later in repetitive disappointments for quality wellness and beauty products. I became exhausted in what seemed to be an endless search for solid, reliable products that would actually do what they say. As such, bringing Mikiya Skin Essentials to fruition was an order.

Formulating my oil blends and other skin essential products are truly enjoyable, and what's even more enjoyable, is that I get to use my own products, attest to and benefit from their effectiveness, and introduce them to you. Now, we do need to be realistic by understanding that most things take time to work; so, patience and consistency is key. Although, the body oils typically yield immediate results in the areas of pain relief & wellness; the face oil and soaps usually take a little time to see results, especially if your skin has significant damage or you're attempting to address uneven skin tone issues. Remember, in most cases your skin didn't get that way overnight, so it will a little time & consistency to correct itself with a reliable product. Again, patience is key, and patience provides the mental resiliency to stay consistent, and being consistent tempers impatience, which allows us to trust the process.
The intentional design of Mikiya Skin Essentials is to be a company where 'less is more', in that, you don't have to have a product for every single ailment, part of the body or face. The goal is do more with less and to ensure that the 'less' is effective and multi-purposed.
When I'm not too busy with Mikiya Skin Essentials, I also have a passion for assisting individuals in need; especially the elderly and those that are less fortunate. My husband's non-profit organization (Advocates for Community Enhancement) allows me to be more effective in the community and have a greater impact on the lives we touch. My life motto comes straight from the Bible and is what I strive to institute in my personal life and business principles, 'Do unto others as you would have them do unto you'. Matthew 7:12.
Leisurely - I love to bake, cook, decorate, clean, garden, take scenic walks, and spend quality time with my beloved husband, wonderful children, amazing mom and dad, beautiful sisters, awesome friends and the rest of my family. Fun fact about me - I absolutely love horses - they are my favorite animal. Not only are they beautiful creations, but they exhibit gracefulness, loyalty and immense perseverance and strength - all important attributes that are exceedingly monumental to the character traits that shape (or should shape) our very existence.
